Never Forget Again: MemoToMe.com and Gmail
If you’re like most of us, when you don’t write it down, you’re likely to forget it. But sometimes writing it down just isn’t enough. What if you want to remember to do something a week, month, or year from now? If you need more than one reminder, if your idea isn’t particularly suited for your calendar, or if you’re a strict adherent to Getting Things Done, you’re probably looking for something a little more flexible. Enter MemoToMe.com, the free email reminder service.
Memo To Me is great for those reminders that you don’t want cluttering up your calendar, and it’s incredibly simple. The application consists of two key features:
- Create reminders at any interval (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, and irregularly) just like GCal.
- Get reminders delivered to your inbox precisely when you want them.
While Google Calendar is perfect for event and schedule reminders, MemoToMe allows me to keep my calendar clean while still remembering to follow up with those people on my waiting for list, like my virtual assistants. Although you’d normally have to pay for a Platinum account to get MemoToMe reminders via text message, you can easily configure your gmail account to forward MemoToMe reminds to your phone. This method also works great for Outlook and Apple Mail users, as well as users of most other email clients with forwarding services.

Call me old-fashioned, but I use MS Outlook. Great idea about using MemoToMe, though! I’d much rather have reminders to follow up with people OFF my calendar.
